EPIC and RTÉ teamed up to present Songs From An Empty Room, a unique music event broadcast live on RTÉ2, RTÉ 2FM, and RTÉ Player on July 25, 2020. Featuring performances from top Irish artists such as James Vincent McMorrow, Lyra, Gavin James, Denise Chaila, and The Academic, the event was hosted across iconic venues like The Olympia Theatre, Róisín Dubh and Cyprus Avenue which had fallen silent due to the pandemic. The broadcast aimed to raise awareness and support for the struggling live events industry, which faced unprecedented challenges due to the cessation of mass gatherings. Proceeds supported two key initiatives: Minding Creative Minds and the AIST Hardship Fund, helping to sustain the people and businesses hit hardest during these difficult times.
